Additional work has been thrown upon the Department
by the transfer from the London County Council to the Borough
Council of various powers enumerated in the Transfer of Powers
(London) Order, detailed reference to which will be found in various
sections of the report.
In conclusion I desire to acknowledge the invariable kindness
and support I have received from the Mayor and Members of the
Council. I desire also to acknowledge my indebtedness to my
Colleagues, the Chief Officers of the Council for assistance always
willingly rendered. To the Staff of the Public Health Department
my thanks are also due for their loyalty and devotion to 'duty
which have, in no small measure, conduced to the smooth running
and efficiency of the Council's Public Health Department.
(Signed) G. QUIN LENNANE,
