Legal Proceedings.
Legal proceedings in connection with nuisances, &c., were taken
by the Council in 28 cases during 1933. Particulars with regard
to each case are set out below.
Public Health (London) Act, 1891 and By-Laws made
thereunder.

Nuisance at No. 44 Gonsalva Road,
viz. :—dampness to wall of ground
floor front room.
Nuisance at No. 7 Gladstone Terrace,
viz. :—want of proper water supply
to premises.
Nuisance at No. 17 Tyneham Road,
viz. :—dampness in walls and
defective condition of flooring in
basement back room.
Nuisance at No. 143 High Street,
viz.:—defective condition of drains
Caused to be carried by road offensive
matter otherwise than in a
suitable carriage or vessel on. 20th
June, 1933, at Green Lane.
Nuisance at No. 125 Lavender Sweep,
viz.:—dirty condition of walls and
ceiling of ground floor scullery, &c.
Nuisance at No. 38 Wadhurst Road,
viz. :—stoppage to rain-water pipe,
leaky roofs, &c.
Did on 5th July, 1933, expose for
sale in Brougham Street certain
fruit to wit : gooseberries, grapes
and pineapples, in such a condition
as to be liable to be seized and be
condemned as unfit for the food of
man.
Nuisance at No. 51 Sleaford Street,
viz. accumulation of rubbish in
house and in yard, dirty condition
of premises throughout, and animals,
to wit, a number of rabbits,
kept in such a manner as to be a
nuisance.
Nuisance at No. 7 Orville Road,
viz. :—defective plaster and paper
of walls, defective condition of
passage floor, defective and leaky
roof.
Summons withdrawn, nuisance having
been abated. Costs £2 2s.
Order to abate nuisance in 14 days.
Costs £1 Is.
Summons withdrawn, nuisance having
been abated. Costs £2 2s.
Adjourned sine die.
Discharged under Probation of
Offenders Act, 1907.
