The home conditions of 93 of these cases were investigated. In
the majority of cases the sanitary state of the home was found to
be satisfactory, the average number of persons per room being 1.16.
In 4 cases, however, the conditions were found to be unsatisfactory,
the patient's family occupying only a single room.
Of the new cases notified during the year 52 were receiving
hospital, sanatorium, or other form of institutional treatment at
the time of notification.
At the end of 1933 there were 101 women and children nondispensary
patients (a decrease of 7 as compared with 1932),
including new cases notified during the year, on the register, and
562 visits were paid by the female Sanitary Inspector (Miss J.
Round) to the homes of patients and contacts.
Efforts are made, in as many cases as possible, to induce nondispensary
patients to attend the Tuberculosis Dispensary, and
during the year, 62 cases were transferred, 52 of these being new cases.
Adult Male Patients.
There were 101 adult male patients not on the Dispensary roll
on the register at the end of 1933. There were 94 new cases notified
(including 2 notified after death) and 11 otherwise reported during
1933, and of these 14 died during the year.

The following table gives particulars of the 105 non-dispensary new (male) cases coming to the knowledge of the Medical Officer of Health by notification or otherwise in 1933:—
