There are, unfortunately, several areas in the Borough similar
to the Plough Road area, urgently requiring attention, and some of
these are at present under consideration by the Housing Committee.
Unless, however, the present rate of progress in dealing with such
areas is accelerated, the hopes engendered by the spate of Housing
Legislation since the war will not have been fully realised.
In conclusion, I desire to express my thanks to the Mayor,
Chairmen of Committees and Members of the Council for the
continued support and assistance accorded me. To my colleagues,
the Chief Officers of the Council, and the staff of the Public Health
Department, my thanks are also due for assistance always
willingly given.
(Signed) G. QUIN LENNANE,
Medical Officer of Health.

Lavender Hill, S.W. 11.
