Staff of the Public Health Department.
The staff of the Public Health Department at 31st December,
1931, is set out on pages 3 and 4. During the year the following
changes in personnel took place:—
Dr. H. McKernan resigned her appointment as Resident
Medical Officer of the Maternity Hospital in May, and Dr. Ethel R.
Emslie, m.b., ch.b., d.p.h., was appointed to fill the vacancy in
June. Dr. Emslie resigned the appointment in December and the
vacancy was filled by the temporary appointment of Dr. F. A.
Mower White.
Miss K. Morrison was appointed District Midwife in September
vice Miss A. Barker, resigned.
In January, Mr. A. E. Tubby was appointed Organising Rat
Officer under the Rats and Mice (Destruction) Act, 1919, to fill the
vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. H. Renham in October,
1930.
Mr. P. Bracking was appointed Grade A Clerk in the Department
on 28th January, 1931, in the place of Mr. W. C. Turner.
Messrs. W. E. Anstee and E. Saphier, who had been appointed
temporary sanitary inspectors for the purpose of the housing survey
(vide p. 104) resigned their appointments in April and January
respectively. Mr. B. P. Garrod was appointed for the same purpose
in January.
