In 1930, the Council obtained a nuisance order against the
owner of No. 24 York Road to remedy the leaky roof of those
premises. The Order was not complied with and summonses were
issued against the owner concerned on four different occasions
(vide page 72) for failure to comply with the Order of the Court.
Fines and costs totalling £105 11s. 0d. were inflicted. Subsequently
the work was executed by the Council and the cost charged to
the owner.

(being expense incurred by them in making the said premises in all respects reasonably fit for human habitation) together with interest thereon at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum from the 26th February, 1931. (2) Order for the Council to sell the premises with conduct of the sale for the purpose of enforcing the said charge. (3) Enquiry as to incumbrances. (4) Receiver to be appointed by the Council to receive the rents and profits pending the sale. (5) Further and other relief.
