Infant Mortality.
During 1931 the deaths of 142 infants were registered as belonging
to Battersea. The total number of births registered during
the year was 2,477, giving an infant mortality rate of 57.3 per
1,000 births, as compared with 54.7 in 1930, 62.6 in 1929, 64.2
in 1928, and 53.5 in 1927.
It will be noted that the Infant Mortality rate was slightly
higher during 1931 than in the previous year.
The distribution of the 142 infant deaths and the infant mortality-rates for the registration Sub-Districts and the Wards, are shown in the following table: —
