Illegitimate Infant Deaths.
The death-rate amongst illegitimate children during 1929 was
98.9 per 1,000 births, as compared with 73.2 per 1,000 births in
1928, 89.9 in 1927, 162.2 in 1926, and 113.2 in 1925. The
corresponding death-rate of legitimate children in 1929 was 61.3,
the ratio of the mortality-rate of illegitimate infants to that of
legitimate being 1.61 to 1.
