Staff of the Public Health Department.
The personnel of the Staff of the Health Department will be
found fully set out on page 3. The changes which occurred during
1928 are as under :—
Dr. Hilda McKernan, M B., Ch.B., B.A., was appointed
Resident Medical Officer of the Borough Maternity Hospital in
the place of Dr. Joyce Peake, who resigned her appointment in
February.
Miss O. Baggallay, Health Visitor, resigned her appointment
in January, 1928, and Miss D. Hopson was appointed to fill the
vacancy. This lady, however, resigned in June, and Miss E. M.
Hoyles was appointed.
Mr. J. Herrin, Sanitary Inspector for No. 1 District, was
superannuated, after 34 years service with the Council, in April.
Mr. A. Chuter, Food and Drugs Inspector, who had been in
the Council's service for 30 years, was superannuated in July.
Mr. W. E. Benjamin, Workshops Inspector, retired on superannuation
after 25 years service in April.
The vacancies caused by the retirement of Messrs. Herrin
and Benjamin were filled by the appointment of Mr. W. E. Selway
(No. 1 District) and Mr. A. Webb (Workshops Inspector). The
vacant appointment of a Food Inspector in place of Mr. Chuter had
not been filled at the end of the year.
