No member of staff was seconded for training in 1970, but two
who where seconded in 1969 will be away for one further year. Two
officers who completed qualifying social work courses returned to the
Department during the year.
Students from other Organisations
Students from professional social work courses were received in
the department as in previous years. Other students were also
accepted in the department for short periods.
In-Service Training and Development
During 1970, a series of seminars was arranged to consider the
implications of the reorganisation which will arise out of the Local
Authority Social Services Act. Each seminar included officers from
different social work sections of the department and by the end
of the year most field work officers had participated in one of these
seminars.
