Dymchurch, the experiment was tried of allowing twelve girls from the Senior
Girls' Centre at College Park to join the senior boys at the North Kensington
Centre who were not partaking in the holiday. The girls occupied separate
classrooms under two of their own assistant supervisors and, at the end of
the fortnight, the experiment was considered to have been successful and to
have provided a guide to the feasibility of integrating the sexes when the
new Senior Training Centre is built.
There have been the usual outings for the men at the adult centre to
Parliament Hill Fields and to Richmond Park. The centres have been visited
by the representatives of various agencies, both at home and abroad, and
at the junior centre, as is the custom, facilities were provided for
students taking Diploma courses to obtain practical experience in the work
of a training centre.
