HOUSING.
Owing to the large amount of inward and outward migration of people, both in regard to the
borough and the various wards, which has taken place since the Census year of 1921, the old figures
of population which have been used for the last ten years cannot be relied upon and any deduction
therefrom may be erroneous.
In these circumstances, it may be wise to defer a comprehensive survey of the housing position
until the figures of the 1931 Census are available. The Minister of Health has, however, required
that certain information shall be given in this annual report and I now beg to submit particulars
requested by him in Circular 119.
