INFANT DEATHS:
There were 44 deaths of infants under the age of one year. A large number of deaths in the first month being, as is usual, due to prematurity, immaturity and congenital malformation.

The Infant Mortality rate was 25.6 per 1,000 live births (26.7 in
1951).
There was 1 maternal death giving a rate of .57 per 1,000 births
(live and still) (.53 in 1951).
