LABORATORY FACILITIES
The Council's Laboratory is situated at the Dispensary, 114, New King's Road. It is equipped
for all routine bacteriological work and during the year 3,348 specimens were examined.
For the first quarter of the year arrangements were made with the Clinical Research Association
for the examination of specimens during week-ends, holidays and emergencies, and for the remainder
of the year similar arrangements were made with the Lister Institute for Preventive Medicine, Chelsea.
This change was made as there were complaints that the relatives of patients objected to having to
go to the Strand with specimens; 579 specimens were examined by these two Institutes during the year.
