The bacteriological examinations are extremely
helpful in promoting improvement in the methods
in certain cases as they provide the basis for an
object lesson to the dairy staffs and assist the
Public Health Department in establishing more
intimate contact with the dairy trade which is
to the benefit of all concerned.
During the year under review 68 samples were
examined bacteriologically, twenty-four of the
number being in addition specially examined by
animal inoculation for the presence of tubercle
bacilli. In no cases were tubercle bacilli found.

The following table gives the number of samples of the various kinds of milk examined, including designated milks:—
