RENT ACT. 1957
For the third, successive year no applications were received or
certificates issued in accordance with the provisions of the above Act.
HOUSING ACT. 1957 - PART IV - OVERCROWDING
Every effort is made to find alternative accommodation for overcrowded
families so far as local conditions and circumstances will allow, and apart
from any official action that can be taken by either the Borough Council or
the London County Council, all possible channels sure explored to effect
abatement by informal procedure.
In all cases where overcrowding is abated warning letters are sent to
the owners of the premises drawing their attention to the provisions of the
Housing Acts.
The following summary shows the number of cases relieved during the year and the extent of overcrowding in the Borough at 31st December, 1961:-
