ROAD ACCIDENTS
The following summary shows the road, traffic accidents which occurred
within the Borough during the year. The total number of accidents was
459, causing 549 casualties, 8 of which proved fatal. It is at least
gratifying to record, having regard to the very heavy volume of traffic
which passes through Chelsea during peak periods, that no children were
killed on the roads within the Borough during the year under review. 11
children were, however, seriously injured, and 35 sustained slight injuries.
I am indebted to the Town Clerk for making this statistical information available to me for inclusion in my Report.
