Food premises throughout the area continued to be subjected
to regular inspections to ensure compliance with the requirements
of the Food Hygiene Regulations.
The Council, on 16th November last, agreed to seek the consent
of the Minister of Housing and Local Government to the making of
a detailed survey of the Hans Town Ward with a view to its establishment
as a Smoke Control Area. This is a further step to the ultimate
object of extending Smoke Control to the whole of the Borough.
In submitting my Annual Report I would like to take the
opportunity of expressing my appreciation of the interest and support
received from all Members of the Council. I am particularly grateful
for the help and co-operation which has always been forthcoming from
the Chairman and Members of the Public Health Committee, as well as
the Chief Officers and members of other departments., In conclusion
I wish to express my gratitude to all members of the Public Health
Department for their valued assistance throughout the year.
