WATER SUPPLY.
The provision of water for both commercial and domestic
users is made by the Metropolitan Water Board. During the year
two complaints regarding the unsatisfactory condition of the
water supply were received. Both complaints were referred to the
Water Board and in the first instance the owners of the property
were advised to clean the water fittings within the flat, in order
that any fears that the occupier may have concerning the water
be allayed, and in the second case samples of water were taken
from the tap, results of which showed that the water was of
satisfactory hygienic quality and fit for human consumption.
As a result of investigation by the Council's Public
Health Inspectors the following provisions were made s-
Supplies to tenements .oo o.o o.o 2
Taps on main for drinking purposes .0. 1

PUBLIC BATHS AND SWIMMING POOLS.
These facilities are available at premises situate in
Chelsea Manor Street, adjacent to the Town Hall.
During the year 30 samples of water were taken from baths,
pools and sources of supply, for bacteriological examination,
and apart from one sample adversely reported on because of its low
chlorine content residual - the result of minor breakdown of the
chlorine plant - the water was found to be in a satisfactory
condition.
