Such action resulted in 67 persons being adequately housed
At the end of the year, 44 families (involving 269 persons) were
living in overcrowded conditions and every endeavour is being made to
bring about an abatement of such conditions.
WATER SUPPLY
The provision of water for both commercial and domestic users is
made by the Metropolitan Water Board. During the year,, one complaint
regarding the unsatisfactory condition of the water supply was received.
Samples of the water were taken from the tap and from a hydrant on the
main. The results of these samples showed that the water was of
satisfactory hygienic quality and fit for human consumption.
Twenty-six samples of water were taken at the Council's Public
Baths, and in every instance a satisfactory report was received.
As a result of investigation by the Council's Public Health Inspectors, the following provisions were made:-
