INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD
As required by current legislation, registers are maintained of all
persons carrying an trades connected with the manufacture, storage, and
sale of food.
Traders and their staffs are kept informed of the latest methods
adopted for the hygienic handling, wrapping and delivery of food, and the
great majority are appreciative of such information.
The following summary gives details of the types of businesses receiv-ing the attention of the Public Health Department:-

As required under Section 16 of the Food and Drugs Act, 1955, or
other local acts, the registrations of 108 premises for the storage and
sale of Ice Cream, and 39 premises for the sale of Preserved Foods, are
operative.
