Such action resulted in 44 parsons being adequately housed.
At the end of the year, 50 families were living in overcrowded
conditions and every endeavour is being made to bring about an abatement
of such conditions.
WATER supply
The provision of water for both commercial and domestic users is made
by the Metropolitan Water Board. During the year, two complaints regarding
the unsatisfactory condition of water supplies were received, and in both
cases Notices were served requesting the satisfactory cleansing and covering
of the water storage cistern.
Twenty-seven samples of water were taken at the Council's Public Baths,
and in every instance a satisfactory report was received.
As a result of investigation by the Council's Sanitary Inspectors, the following provisions were made:-
