INFANT MORTALITY
The deaths of infants under 1 year of age totalled twenty-one, and
the death rate in Chelsea was 25.3 per 1,000 live births as compared with
26.3 last year. The infant mortality rates for England and Wales, and
London were 29.8 and 26.3 respectively. Of the twenty-one deaths recorded,
sixteen were under the age of four weeks.

The death rate of 25.3 is the lowest ever recorded in Chelsea, and It will be of interest to note how it has arrived at its present satisfactory level during the last half century .
