No cases of Small-pox, Cholera, Typhus Fever, Encephalitis Lethargica,
Poliomyelitis, Continued Fever, Relapsing Fever, Plague, Dysentery,
Anthrax, Glanders or Hydrophobia were notified during the year.
DIPHTHERIA.
Notifications.—During the year 147 cases of diphtheria were notified,
as compared with 91 in the previous year. The incidence of the disease
during the past two years is shown in Table No. 41.
Deaths.—Ten deaths from the disease occurred during the year.
Of this number, four were under the age of 5 years, five between the
ages of 5-10 years, and one was an adult, aged 35 years.
