CAUSES OF DEATH.
Table No. 12 shows that 213 deaths were due to Organic Heart Disease,
104 to Cancer, 19 to Bronchitis, 50 to Pneumonia, 33 to Pulmonary
Tuberculosis, 40 to Circulatory Diseases, 34 to Cerebral Haemorrhage, 17
to Influenza and 22 to Congenital Debility and Malformation.
Fifty-two per cent, of all deaths occurred in persons over 65 years of
age.
RESPIRATORY DISEASES.
Table No. 13 shows the number of deaths from respiratory diseases
during the past two years. The annual death rate, the number of
deaths under 5 years, and the percentage of deaths occurring in children
under 5 years of age is also shown :—

DEATHS OF CHILDREN 1-5 YEARS OF AGE.
The number of deaths of children between 1-2 years of age was 9
and between 2-5 years, 10. In the previous year these figures were 5
and 10 respectively. The causes of death are given during the past two
years.
