DEATHS OF CHILDREN 1-5 YEARS OF AGE.
The number of deaths of children between 1-2 years of age was 10
and between 2-5 years, 5. In the previous year these figures were 14
and 12 respectively. The causes of death are given in detail in Table
No. 12. Table No. 14 shows the causes of death during the past five
years.

INFANT MORTALITY.
There were 82 deaths of infants under one year of age in Chelsea during
the year. The corrected death rate is 40 per 1,000 births, as compared
with 70 in 1929, 48 in 1928, 76 in 1927 and 64 in 1926.
In London as a whole the rate of infant mortality was 59 per 1,000
births.
