In addition to the foregoing the Council removed 114 loads of
old refuse from a strip of land at the rear of York Street, thereby
extending the cottage yards by eight feet, and rid the tenants of a
nuisance which for years had been increasing, chiefly owing to the
tenants' own accumulations.
