Summary of Notices and Improvements carried out at the different Manufactories and Workshops in the Poplar and Bromley Parishes, for the year ended December, 1898.

Oil Works1Vapours from oil boiling allowed to escape.The furnace has been repaired.
Fish Depot4Nuisance caused by depositing fish offal and keeping same on premises beyond the prescribed time.The offal is now removed daily. In one case a conviction was obtained with a recurring order and 25/-costs.
Defective drains in workshops16Water-closets and drains in defective condition.In each case the defects were made good.
Napthaline Works1Escape of noxious gas from ChambersThe chambers have been repaired.
Oil Gas Works1Leak from gas plant into Board's sewerPrecautions taken to prevent any further escape.
Skin Dressing3Nuisance caused by scraping and drying fish skinsThe Nuisance has been discontinued.
