The number of deaths occurring in the Parish from this
class of disease was 30. This number includes those nonparishioners
who died in the Charing Cross Hospital. After
deducting these, and adding those parishioners who died in
Public Institutions outside the Parish, the mortality due to
St. Martin's would be 14, against 11 of the previous year.

Small-Pox.—No case was notified from this disease.
In London, this complaint caused three deaths during 1899.
Measles.—Three deaths from this malady occurred in the Parish
and two in the Charing Cross Hospital, and of this latter number
one was a non-parishioner, and there was one death of a parishioner
recorded in the Sick Asylum.
Scarlet Fever.—No death occurred from this disease.
Diphtheria.—Four deaths from Diphtheria took place in the
Charing Cross Hospital, all non-parishioners, and a death of a
parishioner from this complaint occurred at Martlett's Court.
Whooping Cough.—No death from this complaint was
recorded.
Typhoid Fever.—Ten deaths from this disease occurred in
the Charing Cross Hospital, all of which were non-parishioners,
and one of a parishoner outside the Parish.
Typhus Fever.—No death was recorded from this malady.
Puerperal Fever.—One death occurred in the Parish from this
complaint.
Diarrhœa.—Nine deaths from this disease were registered in
the Parish, three of which were non-parishioners.
