Scarlet Fever.—This disease was somewhat more prevalent in
London than in 1898.
38 cases were notified in St. Anne's, with 1 death; 32
families had 1 case each, 2 families had 3 cases each; 5 cases
occurred in Sandringham Buildings ; 10 in Newport Dwellings;
in the rest of St. Anne's Parish a second case occurred in only
one house.
17 cases occurred in the Strand Sub-District, with no deaths;
10 families had 1 case each, 2 had 2 cases each, and 1 had 3
cases. No cases occurred in any of the houses among the
members of families other than those first attached.
