Vestry of Saint James's, Westminster.
Mr. Chairman and Gentlemen,
I submit my Annual Report for the year 1899, upon
the Public Health of the Parish of St. James's, Westminster.
This Report is the twenty-sixth which I have had the
honour to prepare for the Parish of St. James's. Eighteen
Annual Reports had previously been prepared by Dr.
Edwin Lankester, F.R.S.—my predecessor in this office.
The area and population to which this Report relates are summarized in the following table: —
