During 1898, in Lambeth, 16 cases were notified from
Membranous Croup, and 7 deaths were registered, giving a
case mortality of 43-8, as compared with 17 cases notified,
and 7 deaths registered during 1897. Three of the 16
Lambeth cases were removed to Hospital.
In London, during 1898, there were registered 1772
deaths out of a total of 11,871 cases of Diphtheria and
Membranous Croup notified, giving a mortality of 15.2 %*
(uncorrected).
