In all cases notified the nurses visited and obtained all the
necessary information. Any insanitary conditions found to
exist were referred to the Sanitary Inspectors.
One hundred and twenty-seven deaths from Pulmonary
Tuberculosis were registered, against one hundred and twentyfour
in the previous year, representing a death-rate of 0.9
per 1,000, compared with 0.9 in 1925.
The notification of cases of Tuberculosis by medical practitioners
is, unfortunately, not carried out as required by
the Regulations, that is within 48 hours of the same coming
to their knowledge.
