VACCINATION.
Of the 5,490 births registered in 1925, the returns of vaccination show that
only 2,633 infants were successfully vaccinated, while 14 were found to be
insusceptible. There were also 266 who died unvaccinated, and 1,973 statutory
declarations of conscientious objection to vaccination were obtained by the parents
or guardians; 44 vaccinations were postponed under medical authority, 294 were
removed to other districts or place unknown, thus leaving 266 unaccounted for.
