It is for this class that there is urgent need of the application
of Part III. of the "Housing of the Working Classes Act."
80. Reidhaven Road District.—The following table gives
the statistics of Reidhaven Eoad District compared with Plumstead
as a whole. It will be seen that the Birth-rate was much
lower than in 1897. The Death-rate compares more favourably
with Plumstead than was the case last year, and this is more
especially the case with the Infantile Death-rate, or deaths
under 1 year per 1000 births.

Both rates are still, however, much higher than in the rest of Plumstead.
