Institutional Provision for Unmarried Mothers,
Illegitimate Infants and Homeless Children.
No provision is made by the Council, but Dr. Barnardo's
Homes National Incorporated Association have Finchley Lodge,
St. John's Park, Blackheath, used for this and similar purposes.
Ambulance Facilities.
(a) Patients suffering from Infectious Diseases are
conveyed to Hospital by the ambulances of the
Metropolitan Asylums Board.
(b) For Non - Infectious and Accident cases. No
provision is made by the Council. Facilities
afforded by the ambulances of the Metropolitan
Asylums Board, London County Council and
certain local Hospitals. The L.C.C. ambulances
are available free of charge between the hours
of 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. for all confinement cases
entering the Council's Maternity Home, 78,
Shooter's Hill Road, S.E.3.
