VITAL AND MORTAL STATISTICS, 1927.
POPULATION.
The population of the Borough estimated to the middle of the
year 1927 is 103,250 for Death Rate and 103,700 for Birth
Rate. These figures have been revised and are lower than those
which were in operation last year. This has been found
necessary in consequence of certain information acquired by the
Registrar-General regarding migration.
The population according to the Registrar-General's estimate
is 101,920 for Death Rate and 102,820 for Birth Rate,
which figures in my opinion are too low.

The following is the distribution of the population throughout the Borough and upon which the statistics in this Report are based:—
