CLEANSING STATION, BLACKWALL LANE.
The new Cleansing Station which forms part of the Disinfecting
premises was opened in June, 1924. Provision is made for separate
slipper baths for adults and children of both sexes, together with
separate waiting rooms, drying rooms, and a room for the use of
the nurse in attendance.
The arrangements made with the London County Council for
reserving the use of the Cleansing Station on Mondays and Thursdays
for the cleansing of verminous school children continue in
operation.

The following table shows the number of children cleansed during the year :—

That more care and attention is paid by parents and others is
indicated in the gradual falling off in the number of attendances
made. This is clearly shown when comparing last year's total of
727 with 1,088, the average number for the previous 5 years.
Eight adults suffering from verminous conditons were also given
cleansing baths. In every case the infested clothing was disinfected.
