Nicholas, 40 pulmonary and 15 non-pulmonary in Charlton, and 3
pulmonary and 3 non-pulmonary in Kidbrooke. The various ages
of the patients were as follows Pulmonary cases from one to five
3 cases; five to fifteen, 24 cases; fifteen to twenty-five, 43 cases;
twenty-five to forty-five, 85 cases; forty-five to sixty-five, 38 cases;
and 4 cases over sixty-five; whilst the Non-pulmonary were:
Under one year of age, 1 case; one to five, 16 cases; five to fifteen,
28 cases; fifteen to twenty-five, 15 cases; twenty-five to forty-five,
7 cases, and forty-five to sixty-five, 1 case.
Three hundred and fifty-three specimens were forwarded by
medical practitioners for bacteriological investigation from patients
suspected to be consumptive; 287 were reported to be negative
and 66 positive.
Disinfection has been offered and carried out in 142 cases, in
eluding 217 rooms and 504 articles of bedding, etc.; disinfectant
has also been supplied to patients to disinfect sputum, etc., and
sputum pots where such are found necessary.
