PUBLIC HEALTH STAFF.
Miss A. Jenkins was appointed as Health Visitor in February
and Miss L. D'Oyly Watkins commenced duties as Nurse in Charge
of the new Artificial Sunlight Treatment Centre in July.
Dr. A. F. Kellett, B.A., M.B., Ch.B., who had acted as part
time Medical Officer in connection with this Council's Maternity
and Child Welfare Scheme since its inception, and had also acted as
Honorary Medical Officer for the Albury Street Babies Home connected
with the Deptford Fund, had to enter Guys Hospital for an
operation when the illness he was suffering from was found to be of a
cancerous nature and proved fatal after a very short period. His
services are very much missed by the Department because his
sympathetic nature had endeared him not only to the members of
the Staff but also to the Mothers who came under his care and
