(4) Single Ward with 1 bed.
(5) Isolation Ward.
(6) Labour Ward.
(7) Medical Officers' Room, Laundry, etc., together with
residential accommodation for Matron, Nurses,
Probationers and Domestic Staff.
Alterations are now in progress for the addition of a further
10 beds, fuller particulars of which are given on page 82.
(3) Children.—No hospital provided by Council but arrangements
made with Deptford Fund for the treatment of Greenwich Children
and Grant made by the Council for this purpose. A grant is also
made to the St. John's Hospital, Lewisham, in respect of minor
operations performed on children referred to them by the Medical
Officer in charge of the Infant Consultations.
(4) Fever and (5) Small Pox.-Cases of Infectious Diseases are
treated at the Hospitals of the Metropolitan Asylums Board.
Institutional Provision for Unmarried Mothers,
Illegitimate Infants and Homeless Children.
No provision is made by the Council, but Dr. Barnado's Homes
National Incorporated Association have Finchley Lodge, St. John's
Park, Blackheath, used for this and similar purposes.
Ambulance Facilities.
(a) Patients suffering from Infectious Diseases are
veyed to Hospital by the ambulances of the Metropolitan
Asylums Board.
(b) For Non-Infectious and Accident cases. No provision
is made by the Council. Facilities afforded by the
ambulances of the Metropolitan Asylums Board,
London County Council and certain local Hospitals.
The L.C.C. ambulances are available free of charge
between the hours of 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. for all
confinement cases entering the Council's Maternity
Home, 78, Shooters Hill Road, S.E.3.
