Reference has already been made in the Report in the section
dealing with Infectious Diseases as to the disinfection carried out
at the Royal Hospital Schools. Besides the thorough disinfection
of the entire premises, over 3,000 blankets were removed and disinfected
at the Council's Disinfecting Station.
HOUSES INSPECTED AND INQUIRIES MADE IN
CONNECTION WITH INFECTIOUS DISEASE.

The Health Visitors also visited 1,127 cases, and re-visited
when required.
The following books belonging to the Libraries, etc., were
destroyed in consequence of Infectious Disease:—
Central Libraries, 201; School Libraries, 16; Total, 217.
CLEANSING STATION, BLACKWALL LANE.
In connection with the cleansing of verminous school children,
the arrangements made with the London County Council for reserving
the use of the Council's Cleansing Station on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Thursdays have been in operation up to 14th
December, 1921, when, in consequence of the decreased number of
children suffering from Scabies, it was deemed necessary to utilise
the Cleansing Station only on Mondays and Thursdays.
The following table shows the number of children cleansed:—

Fifty-one adults suffering from vermin were also given cleansing
baths. In every case the infested clothing was disinfected.
