such infants forming 9.0 per cent. of those born, as
against 8'8 and 8.2 in 1895 and 1894. It will be
remembered that there was a slight prevalence of
smallpox in the Parish in 1893 and 1894, which
doubtless had some effect on the amount of vaccination
in the subsequent years.

Table 6 illustrates the extent of neglect of
vaccination in the country generally, in the Metropolis,
and, for part of the time, in the Parish. It
may be remarked that Scotland has hitherto been
noted for the exceedingly small proportion of
children under the "not accounted for" heading
