CHELSEA DAY NURSERY.
The attendances at the Nursery during the past two years were as
shewn below:-

It will be noted that the total attendances during the year have
considerably increased.
The health of the Nursery has been remarkably good. Dr. Grace
Nelson is Medical Officer to the Nursery and makes a fortnightly inspection
of the children.
PUERPERAL FEVER AND PUERPERAL PYREXIA.
Seven cases of Puerperal Fever and fourteen cases of Puerperal
Pyrexia were notified during the year. Of these, sixteen were treated
in hospital. One notified case of Puerperal Fever proved fatal. One
case (unnotified) of Septicaemia, possibly puerperal, also proved fatal.
PREGNANCY AND CHILDBIRTH.
One death from other complications of pregnancy and childbirth
occurred during the year, due to extra uterine gestation.
MATERNAL MORTALITY.
The following table shows the Maternal mortality in Chelsea during
the past two years.
