Respiratory Diseases. Table No. 12 shows the number of deaths from
respiratory diseases during the years 1925 and 1926. The annual death
rate, the number of deaths under 5 years, and the percentage of deaths
occurring in children under 5 years of age is also shown :—

DEATHS OF CHILDREN 1-5 YEARS OF AGE.
The number of deaths of children between 1-2 years of age was 19, and
between 2.5 years, 20. In 1925 these figures were 8 and 13, respectively.
The causes of death are given in detail in Table No. 11. Table No. 13
shows the causes of death during the years 1925 and 1926.

INFANT MORTALITY.
There were 55 deaths of infants under one year of age in Chelsea during
1926. The corrected death rate is 64 per 1,000 births, as compared with
68 in 1925.
In London, in 1926, the rate of infant mortality was 64 per 1,000
births.
The causes of death in the various age groups are set out in Table
No. 14
