Tuberculosis Care Committee.
During the year the Chelsea Tuberculosis Care Committee met on
19 occasions, and dealt with cases as under:—

Cancer.
There were 114 deaths from Cancer during the year, as against
117 in 1923. Twenty-five of these deaths took place in St. Luke's Hospital
and 12 at the Cancer Hospital. Five of the deaths were between
the ages of 25 and 45; 47 between the ages of 45 and 65; and 62 from
65 years and upwards.
There were 6,427 deaths from Cancer in London for 1924 as against
6,162 for 1928.
On request, fumigation of room is carried out after a death from
Cancer, and arrangements made by the Tuberculosis Visitor to have
the bedding taken away and fumigated or destroyed. During 1924, 10
rooms were fumigated after deaths from Cancer.
Deaths in Mental Hospitals.
The number of deaths of Chelsea residents in Mental Hospitals
and Asylums in 1924 was 23, as compared with 20 in 1923, and 31 in
1922.
