When those persons who were non-parishioners, but who died in
our parish, have been deducted and the outlying deaths added,
the actual or "corrected" number of deaths belonging to the
Sanitary area is found to be 2,969, of which number 1,545 were
males and 1,424 females.
The death-rate when calculated on this "corrected" number is
24.0 per 1,000 inhabitants, as against 20.5 for 1898.

NUMBER OF DEATHS IN THE VARIOUS AGE GROUPS.
794 persons died under the age of 1 year, 465 from 1 to 5
years, 106 from 5 to 15 years, 109 from 15 to 25 years, 550
from 25 to 50 years, 271 from 50 to 60 years, 327 from 60 to
70 years, and 347 from 70 and upwards.
