Diarrhœa.
During 1927 the total number of deaths from diarrhoea of
children under 2 years of age was 7, and was equivalent to a
fatality-rate of .04. In 1926 there were 28 deaths and a fatalityrate
of 0.16.
Influenza.
There were 83 deaths due to Influenza during 1927, as against
25 in 1926, 36 in 1925, 84 in 1924, 31 in 1923 and 110 in 1922.
The mortality-rate was .49 as compared with .15 in 1926, .21 in
1925, .49 in 1924, .18 in 1923 and .66 in 1922.
Influenzal Pneumonia was much more prevalent in 1927
than in the previous year, 164 cases being notified as against 76
in 1926. The death-rate was 0.24 per 1,000 of the population, as
compared with 0.07 in 1926, and 0.09 in 1925.
Cancer.
During 1927 the number of deaths of Battersea residents from
Cancer was 252 (males 126, females 126) as compared with 263
in 1926, 236 in 1925, 231 in 1924, 242 in 1923, and 225 in 1922.
The death-rate from the disease per 1,000 of the population was
1.49 as compared with 1.53 in 1926, 1.37 in 1925, 1.35 in 1924,
1.42 in 1923 and 1.33 in 1922.
