Deaths from Zymotic Diseases.
The principal zymotic diseases are small-pox, measles, scarlet
fever, diphtheria (including membranous croup), whooping-cough,
enteric fever and diarrhœa.
The deaths from these causes in 1926 numbered 119, as compared
with 64 in 1925, an increase of 85-9 per cent. There was
a corresponding increase in the zymotic death-rate from 0.371 in
1925 to 0.692 in 1926.

The mean death-rate from each of the principal zymotic diseases for the ten years 1906-1915, and for the ten years 1916-1925, are compared with the corresponding rates for 1925 and 1926 in the following table:—

compared with 853 in 1925, 541 in 1924, 617 in 1923, 259 in 1922,
and 400 in 1921,
