Dental Clinic.
During 1926 the work carried out at the Dental Clinic and
Child Welfare Centre was satisfactory. The Clinic was established
as for an integral part of the Council's Scheme for Maternity
and Child Welfare for providing facilities for the dental treatment of
Expectant and Nursing Mothers and children under 5 years of age.
It has been found necessary during the year to provide an additional
Session for the separate (dental) treatment of young children—it
having been found impossible to give these little patients at
the ordinary sessions the time and attention requisite. The
Ministry of Health sanctioned this extra Session which was
expected to be opened early in 1927.
The Dental Clinics are available for. patients recommended by
the Medical Officers of the Maternity and Child Welfare Clinics
of the Voluntary Associations linked up with the Council's Scheme.
The work of the Dental Clinic during 1926 is summarised as
follows :—
Number of sessions held 153
Total number of patients (women 254, children 40) 294
Total attendances (women 1,929, children 90) 2,019
